Apply Fire Fighting Techniques in the Workplace Compliance Training

Applying firefighting techniques involves understanding fire behaviour, using specialised equipment, and executing strategies to extinguish fires safely. It also includes rescuing individuals, preventing fire spread, and ensuring the safety of both firefighters and the public.

What is Apply Fire Fighting Techniques in the Workplace Compliance Training?

Apply Fire Fighting Techniques in the Workplace Compliance Training is a structured course designed to teach employees how to safely respond to and control small fires in a workplace setting. It focuses on compliance with workplace safety laws and regulations, and it’s often required in industries where fire risks are present.

Fires in the workplace are unplanned distractions that derail team’s focus from their goals. Ultimately firefighting can be an addiction. This addiction happens because the fire in the workplace allows employees to assert themselves to put them out. Much like our community heroes saving lives, putting out a fire in the workplace makes an employee feel like a hero. Which on its own becomes a problem that is often fanned by the praise of teammates recognizing the support and help provided in putting out nothing more than a distraction.

  • Module 1: Identify different types of fires
  • Module 2: Explain and practice fire prevention
  • Module 3: Operate basic firefighting equipment
  • Module 4: Perform basic firefighting procedures
  • Duration: 1 Day
  • Delivery: Classroom/Online/Blended

During the workshop, participants will be briefed on how to prepare and present a Portfolio of Evidence for assessment.

After attendance of the course and successful completion of both formative and summative assessments, the learner will be issued with a Certificate of Competence. This unit standard is SETA-accredited and internationally recognised.
