What is Controlling Hazardous/Dangerous Goods Compliance Training?

Controlling Hazardous/Dangerous Goods Compliance Training is a specialized course that teaches workers how to safely handle, store, transport, and respond to incidents involving hazardous substances or dangerous goods. It’s a legal and safety requirement in industries where exposure to chemicals, flammable materials, or toxic substances is possible like logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, mining, healthcare, and agriculture.

Emergency procedures, including evacuation and cleanup, should be planned and understood by all employees. Emergency equipment like eye wash and shower stations should be accessible, clean, and tested regularly. Employees should be trained in first-aid skills and how to respond to injuries or chemical exposure.

  • Module 1: Identify and classify hazardous/dangerous goods
  • Module 2: Handle and store hazardous/dangerous goods
  • Module 3: Implement statutory requirements
  • Module 4: Take the appropriate actions in the event of accidents or incidents.
  • Duration: 1 Day
  • Delivery: Classroom Only

During the workshop, participants will be briefed on how to prepare and present a Portfolio of Evidence for assessment.

After attendance of the course and successful completion of both formative and summative assessments, the learner will be issued with a Certificate of Competence. This unit standard is SETA-accredited and internationally recognised.
